While 2009 has proven to be a challenging year due to situations beyond our control, ACVB can assure that now, more than ever, we must remain committed to the mission of attracting visitors to experience Anchorage’s Big Wild Life™.
GoAnchorage.net The newest, most comprehensive virtual visitors guide in Alaska! In 2009, ACVB launched GoAnchorage.net, an online visitors’ center designed to engage potential visitors early in the decision process. A mid-year survey of site users indicates that the site is performing well. Visitors are spending up to 30 minute online viewing videos, perusing photos and reading articles. Traffic to the flash site continues to build monthly.
Official Guide to Anchorage Anchorage's most comprehensive visitors guide. Reach potential customers during the critical planning stage of their Alaska vacation and upon arrival in Anchorage. The wildly popular “Slim Jim” size is back with expanded editorial content, new maps and a more comprehensive member directory. The guide will be mailed to prospective visitors, distributed at national and international travel shows and available at local airports, visitor information centers and hotels.

Friends of Seymour Club Join the Club! ACVB unveils several new opportunities for members to reach this audience with its Friends of Seymour Club. Highlights include two levels of sponsorship. Using a monthly e-newsletter, the year-round campaign will educate Alaskans about what the state has to offer, drive them to member specials, and provide them Web-based trip planning tools.
Tourism Resource Directory A complete listing of Bureau members interspersed with display ads. This piece has two purposes: a quick reference guide that encourages members to contact and conduct business with other ACVB members; and a tool for meeting planners looking for the products and services members offer. Published annually.
Local Flavor! Official Anchorage Restaurant & Entertainment Guide This guide is a sizzling success, with advertising space selling out in 2008 and 2009. Anchorage’s eateries are featured in two-page restaurant advertorial spreads with original photography and professional design. Chef bios and owner spotlights whet the appetites of hungry visitors and locals. And the fun doesn’t stop with dining. Visitors get a glimpse of the exciting things to do and see in Anchorage in the entertainment section.
