Light Up Your Holiday Season

Tens of thousands of twinkling white lights are being strung around Anchorage businesses and homes this month to brighten Anchorage during winter months and help residents get in the holiday spirit. The Anchorage “City of Lights” holiday season is officially underway Thanksgiving Weekend with many merry events including the Town Square Tree Lighting Ceremony, special performances of the Nutcracker Ballet and esteemed Crafts Weekend at the Anchorage Museum. Go "Downtown for the Holidays!"

Hoop, there it is!

Turkey and hoops go hand-in-hand for many families and visitors in Anchorage the week of Thanksgiving. Throughout the years, many of the nation’s top collegiate teams have taken part in the fast-paced Carrs/Safeway Great Alaska Shootout basketball tournament hosted by the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA). Go Seawolves!
