How I live a Big Wild Life in Anchorage: Seventh Graders in Anchorage share their stories for ACVB trivia contest
Anchorage, Alaska – April 1, 2009 – For the first time, all seventh graders across Anchorage will be able to enter in the Anchorage Convention & Visitors Bureau’s (ACVB) Big Wild Life™ Essay Contest, in conjunction with the Big Wild Life trivia contest, April 22, 2009 at the William A. Egan Civic & Convention Center.
Seventh grade students will be given the opportunity to explain in 300 words or less, how they live a Big Wild Life™. From fishing to snowboarding, biking to skiing, visiting the Alaska Native Heritage Center, or hiking Flattop, students explain what means the most to them about Anchorage, Alaska.
“7th graders have such a unique perspective, we want to allow as many students as possible to be able to share their stories,” says Rachel Sperry, ACVB Information & Event Specialist. “This is also an opportunity for all students that may not have the chance to take part in the trivia contest to get involved,” Sperry adds.
The essays will be judged by, who better than the experts in Big Wild Life™, ACVB Vice President of Community and Visitor Relations, Steve Halloran and Information & Event Specialist, Rachel Sperry. Two winners of the essay contest will receive a great prize package provided by ACVB and a member business in the community. Additionally, the first place winner will be featured in the May edition of Coast Magazine.
