Media Update As of 11:29 a.m.

GIRDWOOD, ALASKA – March 29, 2009 – The Nature Valley 2009 U.S. Alpine Championships continue with the men’s first run in the Slalom complete and the women’s first run underway. Alyeska received four inches of snow overnight and it is snowing lightly. As of 11 a.m. today, temperature is 27 degrees Fahrenheit, winds at five to 10 miles per hour, with good visibility.

The men’s first Slalom run started at 10 a.m., just 30 minutes late, with the women’s run scheduled on time at 11:30 a.m. To watch the results as they come in, first run unofficial and official results, and second run start lists, visit live-timing at http://www.live-timing.com.

Alyeska Resort is open for public skiing today. Visit www.AlyeskaResort.com for snow report and to check out the slopes on any of the eight recently installed Web cams.
