Governor, Air Force Announce Worldwide Statehood Partnership: Press Conference Set for 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hangar 15

Elmendorf Air Force Base will host a news conference at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hangar 2 for an announcement about an Alaska concert featuring country music diva Wynonna Judd, which will be broadcast world-wide in conjunction with Alaska’s 50th anniversary of Statehood.

Gov. Sarah Palin, Air Force Brig. Gen. Thomas L. Tinsley, Commander of Elmendorf’s 3rd Wing, Mayor Mark Begich, AT&T Alascom President Mike Felix and statehood celebration leader Tennys Owens will participate in the announcement framed against an F-22 fighter jet.

The officials will announce a unique partnership between Alaska’s military, AT&T Alascom and the Anchorage Statehood Committee during this year’s Alaska air show on June 27.

Reporters participating in the news conference should meet at the Post Road Gate at 10:30 a.m. for an escort to Hangar 15.
