Anchorage Museum Expansion Update:

An upcoming expansion will add 70,000 sq. ft. to the world-class Anchorage Museum. An adjacent 2-acre birch forest, celebrating the beauty of our natural Alaska environment, will become a vibrant place for both outdoor exhibits and recreation. The Imaginarium, Alaska’s only hands-on science discovery center will also relocate to the Museum.
The Anchorage Museum features the Alaska Gallery, depicting 10,000 years of state history. This changing gallery displays more than 20 traveling exhibits from around the world annually. The Art of the North gallery showcases some of the finest Alaska landscape paintings and the perpetually fun and evolving Children’s Gallery engages children of all ages year round. The Museum Shop offers an array of unique Alaska gift items and Alaska themed books. At the Marx Brothers Café, Museum patrons can enjoy marvelous lunches, desserts and coffee next to the museum’s atrium pool.
