Culture Comes Alive
Locals who have visited the Alaska Native Heritage Center, just 10 minutes north of downtown Anchorage, know this premier, interactive facility is a wonderful place to bring visiting friends and relatives to share the rich heritage of Alaska's 11 distinct Native cultures.
However, some residents may not have had the opportunity yet to see the center's three new village sites unveiled last month. The one-of-a-ind structures (the Yup'ik/Cup'ik, Aleut and Alutiiq) are designed to reflect each of the indigenous groups' traditional dwellings.

The 2006 Friends of Seymour vfr Club is presented in partnership with the Anchorage Market & Festival. Held downtown on weekends and Wednesdays at the Northway Mall, the market features locally grown vegetables, pottery, jewelry, live music and great eats!
