Alaska has produced many writers, and inspired countless others, to tell stories of both fact and fiction. With its growing arts scene, Anchorage has also attracted many authors from Outside to visit and promote their books.

The 26th National Veterans Wheelchair Games will be held in Anchorage July 3 - 8, 2006. More than 600 wheelchair athletes will compete in 15 Olympic-style events, including rugby, basketball and hand cycling. The games promote rehabilitation, wellness and camaraderie through intense athletic competition.
