Downtown Summer in the City

Beginning June 2, 2006, the Anchorage Downtown Partnership starts a summer series of ongoing concerts and events held downtown, six days a week.

Concerts are free and concert goers may enjoy a variety of food and drink from street vendors. Find a complete schedule at www.anchoragedowntown.org

Mondays: Music for Little Ones

12 – 1 p.m.
June 12 – Aug. 14, 2006

Preschool-aged children and their parents can enjoy music and movement with performers Diane McIntyre and Rick Miller of Music a La Carte and The Right Connection. Peratrovich Park, Fourth Avenue and E Street.

Wednesdays and Fridays: Music in the Park

12 – 1 p.m.
June 2 – Aug. 30, 2006

Noon-hour concerts lure office workers and families to Peratrovich Park for lunch and live music by local musicians.

Theatre Thursdays

12 – 1 p.m.
June 8 – Aug. 17, 2006

Pack a lunch and head downtown to Peratrovich Park for live theatre performance. Some days are scripted and some improvisational – always lots of fun and interactive.

Fridays: Live After Five Concert Series

5 – 8 p.m.
June 2 – July 28, 2006

Concerts infuse Town Square with live music from Cajun to rhythm and blues. Join the crowd for dancing, beer and wine garden, food venders and prizes.

Saturdays: Cultural Faire

2 – 3 p.m.
June 10 – Aug. 26, 2006

Celebrate Alaska’s exciting cultural richness at Peratrovich Park. Each weekend features two to three different local cultural groups, including Hmong, Chinese, Hispanic, Alaska Native, Irish and more.

Sunday in Town Square

2 – 3:30 p.m.
June 4 – Aug. 27, 2006

Features the Air Force Bands of Anchorage and 9th Army Band from Fairbanks, as well as Jazz, Dixieland and Big Band in Town Square, Fifth Avenue and F Street.
