Out and About
Art enthusiasts will certainly love First Fridays Art Walk – gallery hopping at many of downtown’s finest art showrooms. Held year round, a map of participating galleries is printed in the Thursday edition of the Anchorage Press.
Wild Creations
Anchorage celebrates one of Alaska's most abundant resources – wild Alaska salmon – through Wild Salmon on Parade. Artists design wacky, whimsical and definitely wild salmon statues that "swim" throughout downtown in summer. Pick up a maps at the downtown visitor information center.
On Display
Guest and staff artisans at the Alaska Native Heritage Center create much of their work on site, inviting guests to ask questions and learn about art forms and traditions.

The Anchorage Museum hosts a Movies For Your Mind series that showcases the best in contemporary and classic world cinema with award-winning and provocative films by some of the most daring and original filmmakers of our time.
Anchorage's Finest Playhouses
