High Honnors Bestowed For the 67th straight quarter, First National Bank Alaska received a five-star rating for excellence, the longest streak of any Alaska-owned bank. The rating came last week from Bauer Financial Reports Inc., America's leading bank analyst. Bauer also recognized First National as an Exceptional Performance Bank, a distinction reserved for banks that have earned a five-star rating for at least 10 consecutive years. "This award, based on our analysis of current financial data as well as historical data, is an award of merit, pure and simple, and First National has earned it," said Karen L. Dorway, president of the research firm. The quarterly rating is based on an evaluation of financial data provided by First National to federal regulators. Bauer Financial analyzes the data and issues the rating, from zero to five stars. Established in 1922, First National is Alaska's largest locally owned and operated bank, with ATMs and 28 branches in 16 communities throughout Alaska. More information about First National is available at www.FNBAlaska.com.
