Winter Climate

Embraced by the Chugach Mountains and warmed by waters from the Pacific Rim, Anchorage has a moderate, maritime climate, with low humidity that contributes to comfortable temperatures.

Throughout the summer, Anchorage’s climate is similar to San Francisco’s spring weather with an average high of 65° F. Winter brings snow with temperatures ranging from 34° to -10° F, creating a climate very much like ski resorts in Canada, the Rocky Mountains, or Europe.
