Volunteer Training & Orientation
Proper training and orientation for volunteers ensures the well-being and safety of athletes and volunteers participating in the 2006 Wheelchair Games.
There will be one mandatory volunteer training session held – a General Orientation. Some jobs may also require Job Specific Training and a Venue Walk-through. Schedules and location information for all training sessions will be mailed to all volunteers, and posted here at www.anchoragewheelchairgames.net.
The first is the General Training and Orientation Session Schedule, an introduction to the Wheelchair Games and working with people with physical disabilities. Volunteers will have several dates and times to choose from beginning March 2006. View General Training and Orientation Session Schedule. Please RSVP for one of the dates indicated in this PDF document.
The second training is Job Specific Training, and will introduce volunteers to their specific roles in the 2006 Wheelchair Games. Job specific training will start some time in April/May.
The third and last training is the Venue Walk Through. The venue walk through gives volunteers a tour of the venue that they are assigned and familiarize them with the layout of the venue. The venue walk through training will begin in June.
