Fur Rondy 2010 marks the 75th Anniversary of Anchorage's largest festival, with plenty of new ways to enjoy Anchorage's history. Popular events such as the Outhouse Races, Running of the Reindeer and the Miners and Trappers Charity Ball will all return, along with newbies like an indoor soccer tournament, the Sprints at Sundown and the Rendezvous of Rondy Dogs. It's a perfect time to be in Anchorage!

- Sprints at Sundown - A dual start, 10-dog team sled dog race under the lights.
- Rendezvous of Rondy Dogs - Life-sized sprint dogs created by local artists displayed downtown.
- Dance in Pursuit of Dreams - A fully-staged, multi-cultural music and dance performance celebrating the diversity of Anchorage.

History
The time-aged tradition dates back to the early 1900s when trappers and miners emerged from Alaska's wilderness to trade, socialize and compete in survival-type games. Prizes were awarded for the longest fox, the best fox and finest ermine pelts, and the event was officially named Fur Rendezvous in 1937.
