Race Course

The 2005 U.S. snowshoe championships will be held at Kincaid Park, an internationally recognized competition area with miles of wilderness trails.

Once a military installation, this 1,400-acre park was eventually relinquished to the Municipality of Anchorage and converted into one of the city’s most popular year-round multi-recreation centers.

Kincaid Park is located in West Anchorage, on the coast of Cook Inlet and at the end of the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail at Mile 11. With whoop-de-do roller coaster hills, incredible scenic overlooks, and plenty of wildlife viewing opportunities (especially moose) Kincaid Park possesses plenty of excitement appeal. A spacious and airy sports chalet provides indoor comfort with panoramic views of Cook Inlet, and north as far as the Alaska Range, the location of Mount McKinley. View Trail Map
